Shade Sails

Shade Sails, also called Sun Sails, are stretched fabric primarily designed to provide shade in a cool-looking way, often using triangles, squares, or rectangles. You have probably seen these in hotels, playgrounds, and water parks.

Shade Sails are very popular because they are one of the most inexpensive and flexible shading solutions while having a modern and chic look—at least when installed correctly! We have seen lots of shade sails that sag or are installed in a way that doesn’t provide much shade or look good. This is unfortunate because, as some of the simplest shading options, it only takes a little more planning and better materials to make them look amazing and be practical.

Another advantage of Shade Sails is that once the supports are installed, they are relatively inexpensive and easy to change out, allowing you to change colors or replace a damaged sail easily. We only install high-quality Shade Sails, including economic pre-made types and custom commercial-grade fabric. We also install both wooden posts and powder-coated steel posts to match your needs. We often use your house for attachment points as well, which reduces costs and adds to functionality. For example, if you want a Shade Sail carport next to your house on your driveway, we can accommodate that.

Because we install high-quality sails using structurally sound methods, you can leave your shade sail up during storms or windy days. However, we recommend removing them during tropical storms to avoid damage. The hardware we use makes them easy to remove and put back on, or if you prefer, we can come out and do it for you!

One thing to consider is that most shade sails we install are permeable (porous), which means that whatever is underneath will become wet during rain. This is because Shade Sails are primarily made to provide shade, and by making them permeable and allowing them to “breathe,” they become more resistant to wind gusts, water pooling and last longer.
